SUMMARY

Psychiatric Rehabilitation program that assists individuals living with mental illness build skills to support their goals through ongoing person-centered classes. Psych Rehab provides recovery-based services that assist individuals to develop, enhance, and retain skills in living, working, learning and socializing so they can live in, and participate in, the community. A structured curriculum provides the opportunity to learn and practice skills in a variety of domains.

This position works directly with mental health consumers by assisting persons with functional disabilities resulting from mental illness to develop, enhance, and/or retain psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal adjustment, and/or independent living skills.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with academic concentration in an area relevant to the position, OR
  • An associate's degree and 1 year work experience in mental health direct service, OR
  • A CPS Certificate and 1 additional year paid or volunteer work experience in mental health direct service.
  • A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of work experience in human services, which must include one year of mental health direct care experience.

Certifications & Licenses

  • CPRP certification is preferred; shall seek to obtain within 2 years of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.

About Us

The phrase Beacon Light actually refers to two distinct companies:
Beacon Light Behavioral Health System (BLBHS) and Beacon Light Adult Residential Services (BLARS).

Together they provide mental health services to adults, children and families in both community-based and residential settings. Individually, BLARS primarily provides residential programs for adults, while BLBHS provides community-based and residential programs for children, as well as community-based programs for adults.
