Staff Mentor - Short Term Adolescent Recovery (STAR) - McKean Co.
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing additional support to the staff and leadership within the program. This individual assists in training new staff and in supporting the implementation of trauma informed principles and practices, including staff debriefing. This position is responsible for assisting leadership in monitoring staff morale and in implementing necessary trainings, meetings and practices within the program. This position is responsible for coaching and development of new staff through on the job training during their employment and for providing SCM and CPR/First Aid training to employees by performing the following duties.
The STAR program is a joint-commission accredited residential program for children ages 8 through 18 who have been removed from their homes due to a behavioral health diagnosis. The program is an intensive, maximum 90-day program with a strong family therapy component. Because of the importance of family involvement, only children living within a 2-hour radius of the programs are eligible for admission.
