SUMMARY

Responsible for teaching one or more core content or elective subjects for students that may range in grades k-12 as assigned and certified. Teachers may use creativity, humor and imagination to develop schemes of work and to plan lessons in order to foster a healthy culture of learning within the classroom and to generate the most effective interactions with students.

Responsible for providing additional support for students established academic and behavioral goals. Updates each student's academic and behavioral goals on their six week periodic reviews. Responsible for providing accommodations to students who function on an IEP. Will be an active and contributing participant for the IEP team.

Teachers encourage, monitor and record the progress of individual pupils, and devise and tailor resources accordingly. They must also keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources, methods and national and state objectives/standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Core Content Pennsylvania Certification preferred
