Position Summary
The Short-Term Adolescent Recovery (STAR) program is a joint-commission accredited residential program for children ages 8 through 18 who have been removed from their homes due to a behavioral health diagnosis. The program is an intensive, maximum 90-day program with a strong family therapy component. Because of the importance of family involvement, only children living within a 2-hour radius of the programs are eligible for admission.
The Residential Supervisor plays a key role in staff development, scheduling, performance management, regulatory compliance, and quality care while modeling professionalism and trauma-informed, person-centered practices. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Residential Supervisor provides direct support to residents as needed, oversees implementation of individualized treatment plans, promotes a structured and recovery-focused environment, and works collaboratively with families, caregivers, and community partners to help residents increase independence and successfully reintegrate into their home communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) would be utilized to implement the therapeutic interventions and strategies as identified in the ITP and with the oversight of the BC or MT. BHT services provide one-on-one interventions to a client in the home, school, or community setting in attempts to maintain the child within the natural setting of their home and community. BHT services can include crisis intervention techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, time-structuring activities, time-out strategies, passive restraints (procedures that do not restrict freedom of movement) such as hand over hand, hand holding, graduated guidance, tactile timed touching, etc. (when necessary), and additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan. - A bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field.
- Two years of paid experience in a clinical setting.
- In lieu of the 4-year degree requirement, may include students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) who are in their senior year, have completed at least 30 credits in social work-required courses, and have completed short field experiences (requirements for the BSW degree) at the time of hire. The required 450-hour internship that counts for course credit may be completed during their employment a CSBBH provider.

SUMMARY
Responsible to identify non-academic barriers to learning and in collaboration with families, to strategize for and/or refer identified students for assistance that will enhance their school success. As representatives of the community mental health systems, professionally trained liaisons provide consultation to teams and families regarding the need for referral to community-based assessment for the mental health problems. As Prevention Specialist this individual is responsible for the planning and implementation of prevention and intervention outreach activities in Warren and Forest Counties. This involves assisting with data collection and program development/implementation in order to minimize the abuse of drugs and alcohol. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures but the employee is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. The Prevention Specialist assists with the planning, conducting and facilitation of education and information programs concerning the identification of chemical abuse behavior. Through utilization of various media techniques, drug and alcohol education information is effectively disseminated throughout the community. This individual provides instruction to school students in coping skills, decision making, self-concept and self-esteem in order to improve their ability to function and relate to others. The Prevention Specialist is to provide support sessions and group sessions for students on an as needed basis, and assists them in accessing D&A services and recreational activities or other community resources in order to address identified needs.

Beacon Light Behavioral Health System is looking for a Community and School Based (CSBBH) Worker/Behavioral Health Technician who is responsible to provide behavioral support to the child or adolescent and their family in specified areas of social, behavioral and emotional concern and needs that have been identified by the child/youth and family and addressed in the treatment plan. To provide support to the child that facilitates the growth and development of the child. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- In lieu of the 4-year degree requirement, may include students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) who are in their senior year, have completed at least 30 credits in social work-required courses, and have completed short field experiences (requirements for the BSW degree) at the time of hire. The required 450-hour internship that counts for course credit may be completed during their employment a CSBBH provider.
- A bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field preferred.
- Two years of paid experience in a clinical setting preferred.

SUMMARY

The ideal job candidate will be highly dependable and have a passion for helping those with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health, and behavioral health needs to live a more fulfilled and happy life.
Working with the individuals in a Residential Treatment Facility, you will assess his/her needs and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging environment and supporting individuals with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. You will assist individuals in becoming more integrated in their communities by maximizing their strengths, interests, and abilities.
Responsibilities also include daily living activities as needed, planning activities, supervision of individuals, documentation, passing medications, crisis management, planning therapeutic activities, etc. You will provide behavioral and therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a Master's level Therapist.
The Specialized Therapeutic Residence for Intellectual and Developmental Empowerment (STRIDE) program is a Joint Commission accredited residential program for children who have intensive needs requiring a longer length of stay in treatment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
